Year 5 - 7 Reading Room
September 1, 2009
Students in Years 5–7 have borrowed an astonishing 1534 books in just over two months during Term One. In response to this enthusiasm for literature the College has provided them with a dedicated space for reading, complete with lounges, bean bags and footstools and access to a collection of many thousands of books.
The space, which has been known variously as Theatrette 2 or the Fishbowl, now provides the boys with a quiet and relaxing environment conducive to reading and book talks.
The feedback from the boys and their teachers has been very positive, and given their enthusiastic use of the Reading Room, may even push this number closer to the magic two thousand mark during Term Two.
