The Nudgee Book Fair, held in conjuction with a visit from Manga Artist David Lovegrove, represented by Speakers Inc, and a Years 5 - 7 dress-up day, has proved to be an enormous success.

Bramble Bay Books provided an impressive collection of books at very reasonable prices and over the course of the first three days and the sale continues until Tuesday 1st September. Over two thousand dollars worth of books were snapped up by students, parents and staff members.

A project such as this cannot be a success without the contribution of a number of people. The Library staff have worked tirelessly, both in the weeks leading up to the sale and in the actual running of what in effect was a small bookstore while still seeing to their other duties.

Sian Kennedy and her team of dedicated teachers were very generous in offering their support and encouragement. Their dedication went well beyond the call of duty when they attended school on Wednesday in a variety of costumes.

Wayne O'Brien and Raoul Carmody were ready to help with the setting up and dismantling of the Fair.

Thank you to all students and their parents for supporting the Fair, the success of which will add even further to what is already an impressive Fiction Collection. In a less measurable but infinitely more important outcome, the Fair will hopefully encourage students to see reading as a means of accessing a world of imagination, creativity and enjoyment.
