The Internet is only one source of information. What it holds is not structured or organised. Searching can be very time consuming and unproductive. Always be sure to find other resources too.
- Be aware that anyone can publish on the Internet
- Work is not quality checked by a publisher
- You must judge the intended audience for the information, and its suitability for your purpose.
Indicators of Quality
- An identifiable author
- Responsibility for the information and the author's credentials
- Type of information
- Scope of the document
- Purpose of the web page
- Writing style
- Language used
- Date
- Referencing and Bibliography
