What Is Diary?

A diary is a personal daily record of one's life.

What Goes Into A Diary?

Your thoughts, feelings, reactions, dreams, experiences and interests. Sometimes you may want to include poems and jokes you have heard, photographs, mementos or souvenirs in your diary. Your diary if used in this way, can also be called a journal.

How Do I Write A Diary?

  • Usually day to day in time order
  • Using simple language and a casual style
  • Using short sentences
  • Using the words  "I"  or "Me"
  • Not concerned with correct structure, eg paragraphs or full sentences
  • Using abbreviations or symbols
  • Using thinking, feeling  and doing verbs usually in past tense
